Ohio Enclosed Cargo Trailers

Ohio buyers usually start on a lot somewhere off I-71 or I-75, walk a row of enclosed cargo trailers that all look roughly alike, and pick whichever one is closest to the size they wanted. Kinema Trailer Depot works the other way around. We build in Douglas, Georgia and ship direct to Ohio, which means you spec the trailer first and we build that one. Length, height, door setup, axle rating, vents, and finish are decided before anything gets cut. Our most requested builds run 6×12, 7×14, 7×16, 8.5×20 and 8.5×24. The trade is simple: you wait a couple of weeks instead of towing something home the same afternoon, and in exchange you get the trailer you actually described rather than the nearest thing on the lot.

The other thing Ohio does to trailers is winter. Road salt from November through March gets underneath everything, and an open utility trailer takes that punishment on every surface, load included. An enclosed unit puts a sealed box between your equipment and the worst of it, which is why so many Ohio contractors, landscapers who switch to plowing in the offseason, tradesmen working out of the back of a truck, and race and show teams running the regional circuit end up moving from open to enclosed after one bad winter. It also changes what you should be checking when you buy. Undercarriage treatment, frame construction, and how the floor is sealed matter far more in Ohio than they do further south, and a used trailer that spent five winters on salted roads can look fine in a photo and be rotting where you cannot see it.
